HOWEVER, i can say that i am getting there, you know, with being a runner.  i have been working on it.  seriously.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;b&gt;august 2009&lt;/b&gt; - i signed up for the richmond half marathon!!  (i know, right?)  i thought i was crazy.  i was scared, but i went, and made friends.  i was religious with the runs.  mostly because i was terrified of failing.  it was super exciting as each week we increased our milage and would be shocked, and so proud of myself for the distance i ran.  (before that a 10k was the longest distance).  as part of my training, i signed up for the &lt;a href="http://www.rrrc.org/events/capitol-10m"&gt;capitol 10 miler&lt;/a&gt; in october 2009.  it was again, the longest distance that i had ever ran.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;b&gt;november 2009&lt;/b&gt; - after 14 weeks of training.  i ran the richmond 1/2 marathon.  i finished in 2:58!  I FINISHED.  is key.  most excited day ever. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;after i recovered, i was anxious to continue running.  i realized that the group was what was most motivating.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;b&gt;april 2010&lt;/b&gt; - at the recommendation of my friend i joined &lt;a href="http://www.sealteampt.com"&gt;seal team pt&lt;/a&gt;.  a push up company run by an ex navy seal.  it has been exactly what i was looking for!  since april, i have been to the workouts 5 days a week!!  i have made some fantastic friends, that truly do not let me miss a work out.  i run 3 days a week, average about 5 miles an hour.  and it feels so good.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;so.... in november 2010 - i decided to run the 1/2 marathon again.  i took 20 mins off my time!! &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;this year.  i am taking the year off from the1/2 marathon to cheer on my friends.  it will be so worth it.  but i am running the capitol 10 miler on saturday.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;so as for my weight... i weighed in at 220 april 2010.  i have maintained that weight.  however, i have lost many inches.  at the beginning of this month, i started weight watchers.  the points plus program is now similar to the nutripoints system that worked so well for me in the past.  but i need the accountability.  you know, stand in front of someone and step on the scale.  so in 3 weeks i have lost 6.2 lbs.  down to 214.8lbs.  the online tools are definitely helping keep control, now that i have the exercise thing down!!  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;hopefully, i will find the time, type='text'>weigh-in/update</title><content type='html'>in january, i started a program at the &lt;a href="http://www.centerofintegrativemedicine.com/"&gt;center of integrative medicine&lt;/a&gt;.  it is a weight loss program that you get the guidance from a personal trainer, medical doctor, behaviorist, and a dietician.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;the center teaches a food program called &lt;a href="http://www.nutripoints.com/?gclid=CPX8tv6Y15kCFRNM5QodCG_aXg"&gt;nutripoints&lt;/a&gt;.  i found it hard to find much information on the internet about the program and was very anxious to get the book.  i essentially started following nutriponts mid-january.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;since then i have lost 22lbs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;it isn't hard, it isn't easy.  i find i must write everything down.  however, i feel that it will come naturally in the future.  the points are not that confusing.  i will try to explain them another time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;as far as running.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i also started training for the &lt;a href="http://www.sportsbackers.org/"&gt;ukrops 10k&lt;/a&gt; at the end of january.  on march 28th, 2009.  i ran it, in 1 hour 17 mins.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;this journey has been very rewarding.  i am finding my clothes fit me better, or are too big.  i am in a wedding in 2 weeks and have had to get the dress altered.  check type='text'>down a bit</title><content type='html'>i have been hanging out at &lt;a href="http://www.biggestloserclub.com/2booklanding.asp?fml=1"&gt;biggest loser club&lt;/a&gt; and trying to follow the plan.  so far so good.  i am down to 224.5 lbs.   i am have been lifting weights pretty regularly, (always room for improvement).  and eating less.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i am also having some &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastroesophageal_reflux_disease"&gt;GERD&lt;/a&gt; issues.  recently diagnosed by my doctor.  i am hoping to get a handle on it, so that i am a bit more eating.   i am also not eating late.  what has been happening, and i believe it has been happening for a very long time, but i am just now aware is i get one of the following feelings, sometimes all of them: acid reflux, sour tummy, and what i think is heart burn.  it really sucks and is irritating.  my mom has been getting this but on top of it: nausea and headaches.  this is what has sparked my attention.  so after talking to her, i started paying attention to my body.  if i get one of the above, then i stay away from it.  it is as simple as that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i weighed myself on friday and i was the same again, but i had also weighed myself during the week and was down another pound.  i must make note that, in the last year or so that my mom has been paying attention to her body, she has lost 40+ lbs.  without effort.  if she was trying to loose weight, the rate that she lost it would have been frustrating.  however, she feels much better knowing what doesn't upset her body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;interesting concept... that really makes sense.  i am tired of feeling like crap.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;the tricky part is to start getting my brain to remember how crappy i will feel if i eat something.  i still want to eat the whole lunch, or help my self to hors d'oeuvres (which are really bad).  so i have a little work to do in that department, but i am lunch, and dinner.  a snack or two in the middle of the day, but i am eating tiny little portions.  my favorite part... i am not counting calories, and i am eating what i want.  i am not stuffing myself.  no more obsessing about food.  &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;when will i eat again, what will i eat. &lt;/span&gt; nope, just having meals.  i am going to keep this up because i don't feel like crap so much anymore.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i went to the gym 2 times this week.&lt;br /&gt;monday: met with the personal trainer.&lt;br /&gt;thursday: 60 mins of cardio&lt;br i slept in late and went right to the class, i would have been able to tolerate the movie if i wasn't so hungry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;lunch: pesto pasta with feta cheese and a beer (&lt;a her prime wine time.  i made a list but the fruit and veggies were lacking in there yumminess...  and selection for that matter.  i had hoped to go to the grocery store for lunch today but then thought a chef salad would work out better at &lt;a href="http://www.greenolivemedia.com/comfort/"&gt;comfort&lt;/a&gt;, but they were closed for lunch too.  so we headed to tarrants, and ended up having the she-crab soup and a mini-and-a-half crab cake.  i was very full.  the bad thing is i munched on the giant mickey mouse rice krispie treat that i brought for the office.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br recipes, start drinking my water, get into the habit of going to the gym... so that it isn't such a shock to my system when i actually start.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;weekly weigh-in|  &lt;/span&gt;a friday weigh in - (even though we start on a tuesday) i will post photos and weight soon.... as soon as i am brave enough to step on the scale.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;posts|&lt;/span&gt; i will post daily.  sharing recipes, exercise, calories burned, and make sure that i drink my water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;drink water|&lt;/span&gt; i am going to drink 96 ounces of water a day.  no exception.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;cook at home|&lt;/span&gt; following the diabetics 'diet' that my doctor gave me will encourage me to eat at home at the dinner table.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;exercise|&lt;/span&gt; 6 - 7 days a week.  60 mins minimum of cardio.  i will wait to find out what else my trainer suggests as far as resistance training.&lt;div type='text'>plan</title><content type='html'>i was given a 'diet' guideline for diabetics by my doctor, and even though i am not diabetic, i am going to follow it.  i have in the past and i know my body prefers it.  i don't feel bloated, puffy, gassy, or hungry... duh?  why don't i stick to it?  it takes a bit of planning, and i need to keep lots of fresh fruits and veggies on hand. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i have an appointment with a dr. at my gym that is going to give me a fitness evaluation.  i am going to learn how to use my body more effectively.  in addition, i have an appointment with a personal trainer.  i have 4 sessions left so i am hoping that gets me going.  at both of these appointments, i will discuss my goal of being a runner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;my doctor told me type='text'>goals: part one</title><content type='html'>it is my intention to work on loosing the many extra pounds that i am carrying.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;my goals? so far...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;i want to be a runner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;the last couple of times that i attempted running (okay, jogging), my shines hurt and then i worried about my knees.  so i stopped.  but i want to be that person, that i laugh at that is running in the rain, or the dead heat.  i want that passion, or obsession.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;i want to be healthy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;lately i have felt out of breath, when i do very little.  i feel like some of my actions, (getting out of the car, bending to pick up things) have been altered because of my weight.  i feel like a huge unhealthy person.  i feel like a person that i would judge, or think, 'how did they let it get so far'.  i have passed my personal limit.  and i have to stop myself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;i want to feel beautiful.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;sometimes people &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;(mostly family)&lt;/span&gt; tell my i am beautiful.  i just don't see it anymore.  sometimes i think i am pretty, and i know what i see in the mirror isn't what everyone else sees, because when i see a photo of myself it just isn't what i see in my mirror... opposite of anorexia??  do we have a name for this?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i will continue to add to my goals.  this is the start.  i don't have a number goal just yet.  i find that it is intimidating, and hard to achieve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:
